Julianne Moore’s Lend Me a Tenor Style Mishap

Thursday, April 8, 2010 • by Roselle

It was actually while searching for stuff to write on the Olsen twins that I came across this picture of Julianne Moore.

Julianne Moore

(Lend Me a Tenor opening, April 4)

The seasoned actress was spotted attending the Lend Me a Tenor opening last Sunday, April 4, along with other celebs like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Stanley Tucci, and Justin Bartha.

Now I appreciate Julianne’s effort to look young, tough, and trendy by donning a pair of gladiator sandals, but I seriously don’t like her dress. I mean, what was she thinking? If it was a stylist who pushed her to wear that dress with those ankle high sandals, then that stylist should be fired.

I don’t want to keep on repeating it but I think I have to for this post. The first and most important rule when wearing a pair of gladiator sandals is to always match it with a short outfit.

Sad to say, Julianne Moore’s dress, though it falls slightly above the knee, is still too long. Plus, it is so shapeless! The whole look is so disproportionate and unbalanced; definitely a fashion disaster.

Now if I were to correct Julianne’s style mishap, I would ask her to don a short dark number like the ones below.

Twenty8Twelve Depp Dress, US$255

Black Halo Ariel Mini Dress, US$375

The short dark dress will show off her legs and luminous skin, and the tough looking sandals will be a great complement to all the sexiness.

Now if you want to make this look your own, be sure to use a sexy short dress like the ones above, and strap on any of the following gladiator booties:

Modern Vintage Shoes Georgie High Heel Booties, US$275

Boutique 9 Driven Open Toe Strappy Booties, US$190
