Naomi Watts Stuns in Shimmering Gown and Sandals

Naomi watts attended AFI’s opening night gala for J. Edgar held last Thursday (November 3). The 43-year old actress wore a stunning sparkly gown by her good friend Stella McCartney.

The actress also wore shimmering sandals to the event, held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

We think Naomi wore the perfect sandals with her dress. Although the actress chose to wear sparkly shoes with the sparkly dress, she didn’t go over the top with her jewelry, nor with her hair and make-up. Naomi decided to wear her hair down and kept her makeup fairly simple. Overall, the look stuns.

We can’t ID Naomi’s sparkly shoes but we visited Bluefly to look at the shop’s formal sandals section. We found 5 beautiful sandals that we’d be happy to wear with evening gowns; here the are:

Chloe Satin Sandals with Gold Bars

This first sandal is our fave. It is by Chloe, retailing at the store for$556. It is made of glossy satin with goldtone bars on the cords. The sandal may be simple but it’s very versatile.

The next sandal is busier and will work best with simple gowns.

Jean Michel-Cazabat Corina Sandal

It is by Jean Michel Cazabat, available in Bluefly for$305. It is made of metallic leather with snakeskin print. The sandal has beaded jewels and accents on the strap.

Jimmy Choo Dart Strappy Sandal

This gold sandal by Jimmy Choo is also versatile because of its simplicity. It is made of leather and glittery fabric. The shoe sells for $660.

If you’re looking for an affordable alternative to the sandals above, this next sandal from BCBGeneration could be just the right pair for you.

BCBGeneration Gretel Sandal

Made of satin, the sandal is only $66. That’s a price you can’t beat.

The next sandal is more detailed and more expensive than the other sandals. It is by Jimmy Choo, selling for the Bluefly price of $796.

Erin Sanders made it to Variety’s 2011 Power of Youth event last week, held at The Hub in Paramount studios in Hollywood. The actress didn’t stay long because she had to go to school that day.

Although the actress only stayed briefly at the event, she managed to make a good impression with her purple carpet look. The actress decided to wear a mini dress with scallops and a pair of brown wedge sandals.

Below are three wedge sandals that are similar to what the young star wore to the event. Pair these sandals with mini dresses to get Erin Sander’s look.

News Flash: Claudia Schiffer Wears Gladiator Sandals!

So guess what? Claudia Schiffer wears gladiator sandals! I never thought I’d see the day, especially with the look that she usually pulls off; you know, granny outfits with flats for a walk to school or tunics with black tights and boots for other errands, but the ex-supermodel actually owns a pair of gladiator sandals.

She was spotted wearing it while dropping her kids to school two weeks ago. I have to say, she wore it really well. She paired it with a red printed dress and she looked really good in it, never mind that the dress was a tad long.

Cuff sandals are everywhere these days. You could say it’s one of the latest interpretations of the ever-evolving gladiator sandals.

The straps on the front have literally almost disappeared save for a V band. And where have all the straps gone? Well, it moved up, making the ankle strap thicker than ever, and making it resemble a cuff bracelet.

Hmmm…I wonder what’s next for our favorite glads.

The first celebrity I ever saw in a pair of gladiator sandals was Gwyneth Paltrow, and that was ages ago back when the gladiator trend was only starting.

I figured I should write about her given she was actually one of the pioneer celebs seen wearing these sandals, and she seems to have an ongoing love affair with it until today.

Her latest fascination? A pair of exquisite Emilio Puccis. The stylish actress and mother was spotted wearing it twice, in two different events:

It seems nothing in Hollywood ever lasts these days. I was so shocked to hear Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry split up that I didn’t want to believe it. I quickly did a search to verify the news. Of course, I got side tracked once I found these pictures of Halle wearing embellished gladiator sandals.

We saw her with thong sandals before (click her to read article), it seems embellished is her current favorite.

Despite having just broken up with Gabriel, Hally still looks good, with no visible signs of desperation or heartbreak (considering the rumor that it was Gabriel who broke it off). I wish I could look like her if I had just been dumped by someone.

Second point to note in both pictures, Halle seems to love the cropped legging look lately. And these aren’t the only pictures I’ve seen of her wearing the cropped black stretchy number. There are others.

Can You ID Kristin Kreuk’s Embellished Thong Sandals?

One of the prettiest faces I’ve seen on TV, Kristin Kreuk, was spotted in Studio City, California the other week (April 17^th).

The Canadian and ex-Smallville actress had the misfortune of getting replaced by Sara Fletcher for the soon to be launched show, Hitched. I guess the producers found her unfit for the role. Or maybe they simply found her too pretty (well, that’s what I’d like to think).

Anyway, while looking at these pictures, I couldn’t help but notice Kristin’s sandals. I initially thought it was the BCBGeneration Uba Sandals. Up close however, I was mistaken.
