Cheryl Cole sure is looking hot these days. The singer and X-Factor judge was spotted out and about in The Grove shopping center in LA last August 5 looking like this:

Cheryl Cole

Looking at this picture, you wouldn’t think she just had malaria. But she had actually just recovered from one.  And check out those legs, so toned and tanned; no wonder those tan colored gladiator wedges are looking so good from this angle.  She was able to rock the pair like it should be.

I couldn’t find any information on the sandals, but if you like the look, you can try any of these gladiator wedges from Zappos:

Do you want to know where Miley Cyrus gets her  cute little nails done? At Cosmo Nails.

The young starlet was seen arriving at the said salon last June 29 looking all cool and casual in folded up jeans, a cap, an ethnic looking colorful bag, and a pair of gladiator sandals from Givenchy.

It is getting quite hard to ignore so I have to at least write about it. Seeing it on Diane Kruger made me realize that it should be written about (click here to read article on Diane Kruger’s sandals).

The “IT” I am referring to is the subtle yet continuous stream of sandals with floral appliqués I am seeing. It seems this treatment on thong sandals is gaining quite a popularity lately, and quite so because it is appropriate for the spring and summer seasons. Not as visible as say, studded sandals, but still visible enough to be noticed.

Let’s start with the first pair I ever saw; and this I believe might be the one that started it all – the Giuseppe Zanotti E00389.

Giuseppe Zanotti E00389

This pair costs a whopping US$650. A price like that would already buy you several pairs of shoes! But on a Zanotti, it will only just be worth for one.

Now here are 12 other more pocket-friendly renditions which I didn’t have trouble finding:

Madden Girl Adaline, US$49

Diba Quin Sea, US$89

Diba Very Hot, US$49

Poetic License My Haven, US$73

Vince Camuto Alexi, US$83

Matisse Iris, US$62

Juicy Couture Noelle, US$80

Seychelles Jayne, US$84

Patricia Green Rosette, US$131

GUESS Artly 2, US$68

Born Gladiolus, US$85

Cole Haan Air Halsley, US$148

Emily Blunt Wears Stone Embellished Roman Sandals

Posted in BCBGeneration, Diba USA, Elie Tahari, Emily Blunt, Heels.com, Sam Edelman, Shoebuy.com, Zappos.com on January 23rd, 2010 by Roselle – Be the first to comment

Recently engaged Emily Blunt was spotted wearing a pair of cute stone embellished flat Roman sandals while heading off to the airport. Her look was comfy casual in ripped jeans under a sweater vest and a long sleeved knit, just the right ensemble when you’re up for a long flight ahead.

Wearing flat sandals is the best alternative to wearing sneakers when you’re traveling. It is dressier but still gives you the comfort you need while you do heavy luggage lifting. Sneakers are a little too casual, and the outfits you can pair it with are quite limited. With flat sandals, you can either dress up or dress down. Either way, you will look sexier too.

I was able to find a couple of stone embellished Roman sandals just like Emily’s. I hope you like this selection of mine. I made it a point to choose ones that aren’t too pricey, though I couldn’t resist including the Elie Tahari Mabel Sandal, which costs US$302.

Diba Late Lee Sandal, on sale at US$39

Sam Edelman Giada Sandal, on sale at US$76

Elie Tahari Mabel Sandal, US$302

Strapped Thong Sandals – A Sexier and More Feminine Alternative to Your Usual Roman Sandals

Posted in Diba USA, Dolce Vita, Shoebuy.com, Steven, Type Z, Zappos.com on January 4th, 2010 by Roselle – Be the first to comment

The typical Roman sandals have multiple horizontal straps that cross the feet and ankles. These straps are usually thick, giving a rather masculine appeal to the shoes. These horizontal straps can also reduce the height of a person as it cuts across. This is precisely why a lot of celebrities wear their Roman or Gladiator sandals with short outfits – to compensate for the loss in height caused by the horizontally inclined straps!

Typical design of flat Roman sandals from Diba USA

For the women who are averse to wearing Roman sandals because they find it a little masculine for their taste, or simply because they are scared it will make them look short, a good alternative is to purchase strapped thong sandals.

Yes ladies, strapped thong sandals (I am pertaining to the ones with straps at the back, NOT the slip-on type with open back), also belong to the Roman sandal group.

Strapped thong sandals are more vertically inclined and are relatively less strappy. With only two (2) front straps shaped like a V, or just one front strap shaped like a T,  these sandals actually make you look taller as it shows more of your skin.

The thong straps are generally thinner. Combine this with the V or T shape, the sandals look very feminine. Wearing these shoes will not only help you look taller, but also sexier. If you’re a little short on height, be sure to purchase the ones with back straps that fall just below the ankle or just along the heel.
