Real vs. Steal: Prada Platform Sandals and Jessica Simpson Parissa Sandals

When Jessica Simpson launched her tween line last November, we mistakenly identified the sandals she wore to the event as the cork platform sandals from Prada.

Today, while looking at the shoe selections in Jessica Simpson Collection, we found the sandals that Jessica Simpson wore to the launch. The shoes are in fact from her own shoe collection!

We weren’t able to take a good look at the shoes last year, but now that we have found the exact shoes, we see a few differences in the two.

Here’s a collage showing the two shoes:

The shoe on top is the sandal from Prada, which is available in Bluefly in beige and black. Since we already featured the beige version before, here’s the black one.

Prada Braided Platform Sandal

The black version of the braided sandal sells for the Bluefly price of $ 792.

The shoe at the bottom is from Jessica Simpson.

Jessica Simpson Collection Parissa

We’re not sure how well-made these sandals are, but considering the affordable price tag (they are only $79.99), we can see how people would choose this pair over the sandals from Prada.

The Parissa has chunky heels that are 5.5 inches high. The sandals come in 4 colors: graphite, bronze, black and nude patent.

The shoes from Prada and Jessica Simpson may have similar straps but the straps of the Jessica Simpson sandals are wider. The Jessica Simpson sandals also have smooth covered platforms.

Jennifer Lopez Rocks Nude Sandals in Peru

Jennifer Lopez was recently in Peru to shoot for her new TV show ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen. The singer sure could give younger stars a run for their money because she still looks smashing and can still totally rock mini dresses and towering sandals.

Here’s the singer in a mustard dress from A.L.C. and platform sandals from Christian Louboutin.

We already featured these sandals as worn by Miranda Kerr before. Sadly, the sandals are no longer available online. But you can still rock this look by buying strappy platform sandals.

Zigi Girl Angie Sandal

This sandal is $125.99. It’s a bit more expensive than the 2 other sandals because this has leather upper. The upper part features multiple straps in suede. It has a 2-inch covered platform and 5 1/2 inch wood block heel.

All of these sandals have a flirtatious vibe and look great with mini skirts. They can also be worn with pants and maxi dresses.

Charice Stand Tall in Jessica Simpson Platform Sandals

Young singer Charice performed last week at the David Foster and Friends Concert at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The 19-year-old entertainer stood 5″ taller with the multi-color footwear that she had on when she performed.

5 Oscar Worthy Gladiator-Inspired Sandals You Can Wear with Your Red Carpet Gown

The 2010 Oscars is coming up in two days (March 7) and fashionistas and fashion critics alike are all pretty much excited to see Hollywood’s crème de la crème strut their designer gowns and shoes on the red carpet. I have no doubt that one of the main topics this coming Sunday will be “who’s wearing whom (as in whose gown is she wearing)?”.

If you’re one of the few who were able to score bleacher tickets inside Kodak Theatre for the event, then be sure to dress your best because you will be walking on the red carpet, after all.

Glamorous to perfection is how you should be – from your gown, to your purse, to your shoes.

If you haven’t picked out your shoes yet, remember to choose one that covers the heel or at least part of it.

Why? Because of two simple reasons: one, it is more formal to cover the heel; and two, the hem of your gown could easily get caught between your foot and the open-heeled shoe as you walk. Now you wouldn’t want to keep on pulling and fixing your gown every time that happens, would you?

So have you seen Sophia Bush lately?

She’s not exactly a paparazzi magnet, or perhaps she tries to avoid them; however, this One Tree Hill star wasn’t able to evade the camera when she attended the Diane Von Furstenberg show during Fashion Week in New York.

She toted the designer’s spring bag and wore a Herve Leger dress. On her feet was a pair of zippered gladiator sandals that I could not ID. The rose colored dress was quite feminine but the bomber jacket and the sandals did quite a job of toughening up her look.
