Actress Halle Berry has been spotted more often recently. Last month, she was seen buying a Radio Flyer Tricycle for her daughter’s birthday; and just  a few days ago, she was spotting visiting some friends in LA.

In both occasions, she kept it comfy, straightforward, simple, and sexy by wearing a pair of t-strap thong sandals.

The pair on her may seem ordinary, but it is a classic and will never go out of style. It has a more universal appeal compared to the traditional gladiator design, and definitely easier to match with as well.

For example, in the first picture, Halle wore the sandals with a more casual outfit – plain tee and cargo pants. But in the second picture, she paired it with something a little more dressed up – black leggings and a multicolored chiffon top.

Oscar award winning actress Marion Cotillard has not disappointed fashion critics so far. Her red carpet choices have been well received and seem to have constantly hit the approval mark.

She attended the 2010 Golden Globe Awards last January 17 in a long green gown by Christian Dior and walked her way through the red carpet in some exquisite Jimmy Choo “Drake” Water Snake Sandals.

17-year old pop star Miley Cyrus has occasionally had her fashion hits and misses, but she definitely wowed us when she attended the 2010 Grammy Awards held last January 31.

She graced the red carpet in a short but stunningly beautiful Herve Leger dress, and finished off the look with a pair of Balenciaga gladiator sandals. She was in fact, named as one of the best dressed celebrities on the red carpet during that event. The typical Roman sandals have multiple horizontal straps that cross the feet and ankles. These straps are usually thick, giving a rather masculine appeal to the shoes. These horizontal straps can also reduce the height of a person as it cuts across. This is precisely why a lot of celebrities wear their Roman or Gladiator sandals with short outfits – to compensate for the loss in height caused by the horizontally inclined straps!

For the women who are averse to wearing Roman sandals because they find it a little masculine for their taste, or simply because they are scared it will make them look short, a good alternative is to purchase strapped thong sandals.

Yes ladies, strapped thong sandals (I am pertaining to the ones with straps at the back, NOT the slip-on type with open back), also belong to the Roman sandal group.

Strapped thong sandals are more vertically inclined and are relatively less strappy. With only two (2) front straps shaped like a V, or just one front strap shaped like a T,  these sandals actually make you look taller as it shows more of your skin.

The thong straps are generally thinner. Combine this with the V or T shape, the sandals look very feminine. Wearing these shoes will not only help you look taller, but also sexier.
